Professional Development for Media Educators in Newfoundland and Labrador
As part of its implementation plan for the new English Language Arts curriculum, the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education has been providing in-service training to teachers at various grade levels. Media education, as it applies to the new English Language Arts curriculum, is included as part of this training - but no specific training in media education is presently offered at either the board or department level.
Occasionally, the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers' Association has offered sessions in media analysis and literacy through its Special Interest Councils' annual conferences.
