MNet Review

videoMaking connections with other people in cyberspace carries its own set of possible perils. This video underlines the need for savvy and discriminating use of the internet by focussing on a young man whose cyber girlfriend may turn out to be very different from his romantic imaginings. In a dream-like setting, his guardian angel challenges Adam to think carefully and critically about the people and sources of information he encounters on the net. This is a useful video to open up the largely undiscussed area of on-line safety. It can be used in social science, health, media studies, English, communications courses and even computer studies, as well as by parents.

Caught in the Net can be ordered online from the National Film Board.
