The Department of Canadian Heritage releases a discussion paper entitled Canadian Content in the 21st Century, and makes a call for submissions on the issue of Canadian content in film and television productions.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) submits its report, Canadian Content in the 21st Century: Review of Canadian Content in Film and Television Productions, to Canadian Heritage. The report highlights the lack of support within the existing policy framework for the development of high quality, uniquely Canadian programming in general, and English-language dramas in particular.
The Canadian Film and Television Production Association and l'Association des producteurs de films et de télévision du Québec releases its sixth annual profile of the Canadian film and television sector. The report is entitled Canadian Independent Production: The Challenges of Uncertainty.
